Notes
This sugar bowl was conceived as part of a three-piece set, together with a teapot and milk jug.
An identical sugar bowl, part of a three-piece, was also manufactured by James Dixon & Sons; see (for example) Lyon & Turnbull, 19 April 2005, lot 33. This set, from the Andrew McIntosh Patrick collection, is now in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, San Francisco.
