  • Notes

The partnership between George Marvin Story, Henry John Story and Arthur Briggs, trading as Story Bros & Triggs at 152-156 Victoria Street, London, EC, was dissolved, by mutual consent, on 30 June 1889 (see The London Gazette, 18 October 1889, p. 5520).  The firm was described as  ‘Wholesale and Retail Cabinet Maker and Upholsters’.

It is likely that the present cabinet was retailed by the successor partnership, which offered ‘A Large Assortment of Antiques and Reproductions’ from the same address, into the twentieth century.
