This pattern was published in a Linthorpe Art Pottery advertisement published in The Furniture Gazette, 12 June 1880. The design is inspired by Pre-Columbian Peruvian vessels, which provided Dresser with several shapes for pieces manufactured by Linthorpe.
A vase of this form is in the collection of the British Museum, 1980, 3-6.1, and another belongs to the Detroit Institute of Art.
