This plate bears the mark of Creil et Montereau in use during the initial period of production (see right). A bowl with the same crayfish (from the collection of the Musée d’Orsay) is on the cover of Bouillon et al. (op. cit.). An etching by Bracquemond of the crayfish design is illustrated in Jean-Paul Bouillon, Félix Bracquemond 1833-1914: Graveur et céramiste, Vevey, 2003, pl. 58 (see right).
