Donato Esposito, ‘From ancient Egypt to Victorian London: the impact of ancient Egyptian furniture on British art and design 1850-1900’, Decorative Arts Society Journal, 27 (2003), pp. 81-93 (for a discussion of Thebes stools)
This appears to be the first recorded example of a tall Thebes stool, of an otherwise familiar design.
The construction is identical to that found on Thebes stools bearing a Liberty & Co. label.
