Eric Megaw, the research engineer, commissioned this chair in 1933 or 1934; it was the first version to be produced.  The design was later commissioned for the Q Theatre, Kew, London.  Other examples are in the collections of the Wolfsonian-Florida University, Miami (85.11.8) and the Museo Nacional des Artes Decorativas, Madrid (CE25143), and one more was included in H. Blairman & Sons, Furniture and Works of Art (2016), no. 21.
